hair, part 3

It’s been just about 2 months since my last hair update. When I look back at the last set of pictures, I realize it’s grown quite a bit, but it still seems to be taking forever.

My first hair post is here, and my last update is here.

Here I am as of a few days ago:

Still a long way to go!

hair, part 2

My hair is in a super awkward stage, but I am continuing to grow it out. It’s been almost 3 months since I posted my first update, back when it was still really short (here). It’s grown quite a bit since then.

current length - this was actually a really good hair day, if that tells you anything

In more hair news, I gave Jonah a badly-needed trim last night. His haircuts have always been a bad experience, but I was able to trim his hair while we sat on the couch, and he did great! He got through the sides just fine (which is usually the bad part because he can hear the scissors), and only fussed a little during the back. I was shocked. Here’s a before and after.

before

See how long the sides were? The back was looking pretty bad, too.

after

He always looks so grown up after I trim his hair. He’s so handsome!

hair, part 1

It seems like everyone is growing their hair out right now. I’m one of them. I last cut it around Thanksgiving, then decided I want to grow it out. I’m not even sure how long or short I want it to be, but Jonah’s not pulling hair anymore (my main reason for cutting it short in the first place, back when he was less than a year old), so I don’t have to worry about that anymore.

Inspired by posts at Dooce and The Dabblist, I am going to keep you all up to date on my hair growing process. Because nothing’s more fun than watching someone’s hair grow, right? Right?

Here are pictures to give you an idea of what I started with, and where I am now.

where I started: really short

somewhat less short, a few days ago

The problem with starting with hair that is 3/4″ long is that it is going to take SOOOO LOOOONG to grow out, and I know I’m going to have some pretty awkward phases. Right now all I’m doing is trimming the back so I don’t have a mullet, and trimming my “side burns”.

Also, I can’t guarantee I’m not going to get tired of this growing out process and buzz it again, but I’ll try really hard not to!
